Gran Canaria is preparing for Adventure Week 2025, a week of unique Active Tourism and Ecotourism experiences.
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, September 4, 2025. From September 22 to 28, the island will host a new edition of Gran Canaria Adventure Week (GCAW'25) , the great Active Tourism and Ecotourism meeting that offers, free of charge, more than 300 places in experiences that combine nature, adventure and sustainability.
Organized by Activa Canarias and Gran Canaria Tourism (Gran Canaria Council) , in collaboration with ANETAE , this promotional event has established itself as a benchmark event that brings the active tourism sector closer to citizens and visitors each year.
An island for adventure
For seven days, residents and tourists will be able to discover Gran Canaria in a unique way: hiking ethnographic trails, cycling, climbing or via ferrata, descending ravines, or enjoying nautical experiences such as kayaking, snorkeling, or paddleboarding.
The GCAW'25 program covers a wide variety of experiences across the island: from ethnographic hiking , with routes such as the Salt Route in Juncalillo del Sur or walks between vineyards and volcanoes in San Mateo, to multi-adventure proposals such as climbing, via ferrata, zip lining and caving in Santa Lucía de Tirajana, or orientation circuits in Artenara. There will also be introductory climbing in El Garañón and coasteering in Mogán , as well as nautical activities such as kayaking and snorkeling in Taurito and night snorkeling in Las Canteras . For those who prefer to explore the city on wheels, various cycling tours have been scheduled, both day and night, around Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The agenda is completed with stargazing at the summit of Mogán , the combination of paddle surfing and snorkeling in the bay of Sardina del Norte , the challenging via ferrata "Love and Hate" in Bahía Feliz and practical workshops such as sports orientation in Arucas .
Some activities are family-friendly and accessible, designed to accommodate people with different levels of experience.
Responsible and sustainable tourism
GCAW'25 is not a competition, but an outdoor experiential fair that highlights the sustainable, diverse, and responsible nature of active tourism on the island. Registration is now open at www.grancanariaaventura.com , and all activities are free thanks to the commitment of Activa Canarias and Turismo de Gran Canaria , which promote this event as a showcase for the sector's potential.
“Gran Canaria is a prime location for ecotourism, and we want both residents and visitors to experience the island from the inside, with authentic and respectful experiences,” the organizers emphasize.
